Review on πŸ”Š Enhanced 12 Inch Classic Beehive Subwoofer Speaker Grills for High Excursion by Robert Berio

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good product, if you are happy with the quality I would look for a cheaper alternative.

The metal looks like regular steel to me, it's tough so it does its job well and the shape of the design really works, it (barely) fits my 12" Pioneers and my subwoofers don't even thump at full power (500W RMS with BassBoost set to +8dB and my EQ set to my hip hop preset with max digital bass boost). Overall the plastic is cheap, doesn't hold up well, I don't think even glue was used and the metal is rough. The screws provided would not fit my speakers either as the speakers themselves were oversized plastic. a body that would take up most of the screw's length, but the screw does not hold until it is in a sturdy wooden box. Luckily I was able to use my original screws. I would say that a good quality product would have the screw holes countersunk. It wasn't these at all. I might go back one day when I'm working on my system and bevel the plastic to get the screws a little better. I wouldn't call it a quality product or ingenious design. It is purpose-built and simplified for maximum profit. Does it cost $30? Not coincidentally, the same thing could perhaps be shipped on a slow boat for less than half the cost. Is that enough to not worry about removing and sending back, yes. It does fine in a pinch, although I would never use it if the plastic broke because it would rip anything that gets close to the speakers, and I bought it because I'm really keen on improving mine from time to time time to use. Trunk (yes, although this degrades the sound quality).

Pros
  • Long throw design allows high power subwoofer to move up.
Cons
  • Slightly torn
