Not at all what I expected. I barely had time to open the cylindrical shipping container when the smell became unbearable and extremely difficult to get off my hands. The smell that greeted me inside the suitcase was more of a cheap "old lady" perfume (no hint of sandalwood) strong enough to stop a freight train. UPDATE: About 3 weeks ago I received a package from Revain and was surprised to find another bottle of Sandalwood essential oil. This time I was very pleased to open it up and smell the REAL sandalwood! I'm not sure if the first one I received was just a bad one or part of a bad batch, but Alphrodite got it right by sending me replacements free of charge, unsolicited. It's true that you only get one chance to make a first impression, but doing the right thing makes a lasting impression.
