Easy to connect. Works perfectly. no noise

This is a high side dimmer. I installed it in the main cabin of my fifth Open Range bike. It drives 6 built-in 4W LED ceiling lights. I had concerns about the installation but it was easy. However, I used a voltmeter. I removed the fuse box cover and noticed that all the wires connected to the negative side (ground) are WHITE and the wires connected to the hot side have a WHITE/RED STRIP. The 2 wires connected to the back of the existing switch are essentially the same wires as the WHITE/RED TAPE. This is a power cord. If you unplug these 2 wires from the switch, one goes from the switch box (which supplies power) and the other goes straight to the headlights. A voltmeter will help here. You need to figure out which of the two wires is coming out of the switch box. This is a hot line. Connect this wire to the RED wire on your new dimmer. Connect the WHITE wire from your dimmer to the other white/red wire you removed from the original switch (the one going to the light). Now locate the WHITE wire which is the negative (ground) wire that runs next to the WHITE/RED striped wire and connect it to the BLACK wire on your dimmer. You have connected a 2-wire switch to a 3-wire dimmer. The white/red stripe and white wire are actually one wire (2 separate wires connected together) but they are separated to make the connection to the original switch. I got lucky because when I found the white negative/ground wire it was cut and the two ends connected to a nut. Using the voltmeter, I put the BLACK voltmeter lead in the wire nut that contained the spliced white wires and the RED voltmeter lead on each of the white/red striped wires and saw which one read 12 volts. Whoever goes into the light will not read anything. And that means hooking up a 12 volt dimmer for dummies. Hope this clears things up for all of us showers with electrical issues. The photo of the switch box shows that the wires to the right of the blue bladed switches have a white and red stripe. Always turn off the van circuit breaker at the base when digging through the van circuit breaker box.
