Had something similar and it overheated and eventually died from overheating, it actually melted from the bottom. With this hub I don't have this problem at all. Even when we have all 4 ports connected to the device and charging, it doesn't overheat or heat up. All devices charge relatively quickly. All we had to do to set it up was plug it in and that was it. I've used this with my laptop to move files from multiple flash drives rather than attaching them individually. This made it much easier and faster. Depending on the type of flash drive, it determines how quickly files are transferred to each other. However, I was able to move files from 3 separate flash drives in under an hour as I had to open and verify a large number of them. Great little hub, takes up almost no space.
