After months of torment, I gritted my teeth and bought one to replace the 4/3 9-18. Overall this is a better product than the old 4/3 UWA. Assembly and AF are two immediate improvements. In terms of IQ, the difference between the two is negligible. However, the edge quality is significantly better with this PL 8-18. CA is another improvement, although the old 4/3 should be fine. I skipped the Oly 7-14 because it's too big, expensive, and doesn't need a filter. I didn't consider the m4/3 9-18 either because it's overpriced compared to this PL 8-18.
