Review on Non Slip Stair Treads Tape 15 Pack by Keith Desjarlais

We replaced the carpeting on our staircase with oak to match the adjoining living room. The result is nice, but we didn't think of one thing: now they can be slippery. We adults had no problem on the stairs, but our dog (12lb Shih Tzu) slipped and fell down the stairs a few times. Thankfully he was unharmed but refused to go down the stairs and we had to carry him. We quickly realized that this could also be a problem for small children or people with walking difficulties if they wear socks instead of shoes. These rungs are longer than other brands, which is important when you have a wider staircase. Our stairs are 36 inches wide so the steps cover all but 2 inches of the sides. We placed them closer to the edge and they were pretty easy to install. The roller really helped flatten the boards and glue them together. Keep in mind that if the staircase surface is not entirely smooth (like our oak staircase), tiny "pockets” will be visible in the slats. We still love the look of the stripes and they're barely noticeable. Most importantly, our dog can now easily walk down stairs and not fall, and visitors who enter the house wearing only socks are safe. The strips have sufficient texture but are easy to clean. We are very happy with the product.
