We had a very big uproar this week when one of my children slammed the door on another child's finger from the HINGE SIDE resulting in a trip to the emergency room and a very serious injury. So I tested this product on the hinge side, but it is NOT INTENDED for that. Please purchase a door hinge protector as this product will not protect broken fingers on the hinge side of the door. But I wanted to try anyway and the first two photos are signs of wear from testing and as you can see the foam has suffered a lot and won't last much longer, if at all. In the third photo I tested the new one and tried to close the door ONCE. As you can see there are already creases in the foam which leads me to believe these foam shields are not going to last very long, especially if kids try to use more force to close the door. But the concept is great and I highly recommend using it for temporary use until a more permanent solution is found. Watch out for those little fingers!
