Review on NANIWA Whetstone Flattening Tool QA 0160 for Sharpening by Brandon Micali

I bought this stone at a modest price to use with some inexpensive waterstones and when I first used it and then went with a flattened stone I was amazed at the improvement in performance. The ridge jumped, and in maybe a third of the time I normally spend I've had the benefit of doing push cuts in magazine paper and doing all the other tricks a good edge can do. And the stone was not thrown; I've used the other two alignment techniques and found them good enough, but they were a big improvement. Very very happy with this tool.
