Very happy with the purchase! On my machine I am good at embroidering decorative stitches and knitting patchwork quilted tops. They're incredibly sharp, and with the included necklace, I don't have to worry about them ending up where my kid can find them or getting lost among the quilts on my sewing table. Likewise, the chain is long enough that you don't run the risk of impaling yourself every time you pick it up/put it back. They are a bit heavy (which I think is a good sign) but the chain is well made and doesn't tangle the hair at the back of the head. The chain is attached to the holder with carabiners on two small loops, so if it is too long or too heavy for an elderly person, it can easily be replaced with tape. They're effortlessly beautiful and durable enough to become a sewing box heirloom. I am planning to buy another pair as a gift for my neighbor.
