Review on 100 Pcs Solder Seal Heat Shrink Butt Connectors, Waterproof And Insulated Electrical Wire Terminals Splice By TICONN by Shane Mack

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked pretty well, took a bit of time with heat gun to solder

I’d never used these before so wasn’t sure what to expect. I replaced the amp and radio in my car and needed to solder and seal a bunch of wires. This seemed like a better solution than soldering and shrink wrapping the old way or using crimped mechanical connections.I’m glad I used these as trying to solder in the tight spaces of a car would have been harder. I also bought a heat gun to do this right. While I didn’t experiment with too many settings it felt like I had to use max heat/fan to get the solder to visibly melt. That just may be what it requires so I’m not saying it’s bad, just wasn’t sure what to expect. In any case the connections it made seem strong and sealed so I’m happy with the product. My only suggestion is the manufacturer find a way to make it more obvious when the solder has melted. With the wires and shiny plastic coating it isn’t easy to see the flowed solder. And since it’s pretty hot it’s hard to grab it and see. But with a decent heat gun and some patience these are very handy connectors that I’ll definitely use on other projects I would have broken out the soldering iron for.
