Review on πŸͺ‘ Saddle Stool Rolling Chair for Medical Massage Salon, Kitchen, Spa, and Drafting - Adjustable Hydraulic Stool with Wheels, Black (No Backrest) by Cindy Payne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nothing for tall people.

Well, my saddle stool just arrived. To be honest the bubble wrap took longer to unpack and cut than to assemble and apply. I haven't kept it at home for more than 10 minutes and have been sitting on it for about 4 minutes now. It also comes with a very good, very simple, well illustrated manual. The padding seems sufficient, but not lavish. The whole stool seems solid enough to me and even looks nice. He is also very light. Now for the issues: 1) I'm 6'1" and 350 pounds. The stool is rated at 400 pounds. However, the saddle appears to be made for someone who is considerably smaller at the rear. The back of the saddle (skates) ends in front of me. Usually I just went a little bit forward. No, where a bow and horn would be on a horse's saddle, there is a pronounced rise of the saddle. 2) The angle at which the seat is (permanently) fixed - high in the front, low in the back. Folks, this makes the ride very uncomfortable trying to get an inch forward and out of that low, short incline. 3) This configuration does not allow you to lean forward comfortably for the same reason. 4) The seat keeps me upright but in the lowest position I sit too high for this table my wife bought me for Christmas and doesn't allow me to lean forward comfortably. SIGH. New table or new stool? Well I said my wife bought me a table. I would highly recommend this saddle stool for smaller, lighter people, but I feel I wasted my money. Maybe I'll put spacers on the bottom of the seat and jack it up from the back. That can help.

Pros
  • Durability: Compared to the plastic base, which is easy to damage, the steel base makes the stool stronger and more durable. Weight: 400 pounds.
Cons
  • Expensive
