Great Blu-ray Player Under $80

Sony BDP-BX37 Blu-ray DVD Player and Internet Streaming This Blu-ray player is a huge improvement over my previous model. I was one of the lucky ones who bought a Bluray when it first came out. I was very lucky to find one of the first players to be offered for sale on Bestbuy. It was a Samsung BD-P1000. It was one of the worst Bluray players. The boot time was unbearably long and I can't start updating the firmware. I realized Bluray was an evolving medium, but updating this player must have been overdue. Now let's talk about the new player. The fact that this player actually plays Blu-ray discs makes this player a huge improvement. Samsung hasn't played any new discs at all in the past few months. Turning my next Netflix rental into a giant adventure. This player not only plays discs but also loads them in seconds. It's amazing how far we've come. I put in a disc that I knew would take forever to boot. Avatar was a feature film craze, and when it came out on Blu-Ray it was no different. It was one of the first movies to not play at all on some players. Sony handled it like a champ. It loaded just as fast as a normal DVD. This player takes full advantage of Blu-ray. It also has a network port on the back which expands some of the player's capabilities. Firmware updates are the first thing that has become much easier. I turn on the player and it reports an update. I click OK and after 5 minutes it has an updated player. You no longer have to search for an ISO image to update the firmware, burn it to a disc and insert it into the player. A whole new world opens up with broadband internet access. Streaming video and audio is now the norm. This blog is all about using these types of devices for entertainment rather than paying those ridiculous fees to Mr. Cabletown. Sony has a strange setup on how you set up these services. You log in to sonystyle.com and register your player. From here you add your services that you have subscribed to. Hulu plus, Netflix, Slacker Radio, and Pandora are set up here on the page. Once you set them up on the website, your player will be updated and ready to start streaming media. Once you've got it set up, you're good to go. There are not enough interfaces for these services. This is the only downside. Netflix is one of the best interfaces. The woman's score is quite high in terms of usability. In other services, a lot of searches are done in small squares with words. Netflix uses a lot of images. He's doing his job. The fact is that this player "supports wireless communication". Read more about this review here - [.]
