I gave these gloves a try thinking the bad reviews might be fake. Here's what happened: At the end of a day of sailing on the river in very light winds, some of the seams on the edges of the fingers came undone. I think it would be worse if the glove had more wind, more water and more stress. Otherwise the gloves are very comfortable. The loosely woven base dries very quickly and ventilates the hands well, the leather itself makes a pretty good impression. The collar sleeves hold up well and the velcro straps are easy to adjust. I was really hoping to get a winning pair with these gloves but I can't figure it out because the seams are falling apart so much. If you're spending $15 to buy them, you might as well spend a little more for a frequently recommended pair from a specific Marine National Marine Supply Store, unless you don't mind having to sew those backups yourself or throw them away and get another pair.
