I got this for work so the main benefit for me when I ordered it was that it's rechargeable and I didn't have to worry about replacing or removing batteries, when they are not used. over a Long period of time. I practiced on very thin plastic and it sealed perfectly! It took me a few tries to get the right pressure; too much and it melted the plastic too much if that makes sense. However, this may not be the case with thicker plastic or chip bags. Also, I wasn't expecting the pouch to be cut off when sealed, so I thought I was doing it wrong, but later realized it was actually a seal! chips before you open a new one! Or muesli. giggle
