I have long wanted a Beall system for buffing and polishing handles that have been machined on my lathe. However, given my limited, casual use, the Beall's price tag was more than I was willing to pay. When I was looking for a cheaper solution, I found this Rustark 6-piece polishing set. It was delivered yesterday. I immediately went to Lowe's to buy a 1/2" full thread, 6 nuts and 6 wing washers - all for about $9. I drilled a small center hole on one end of the 18" fully threaded and then installed the wheels. The bar is pulled into the chuck of my lathe and the other end is carried by the tailstock. I used a triangle bar on a yellow wheel and a white diamond bar on a white wheel. I'm keeping the unstitched fluffy wheel until I can get some canuba wax (wish it wasn't included in the kit). My first attempt at polishing showed that both wooden and acrylic handles are beautifully finished and should be even better waxed. So for about $27 I have a very useful accessory for my lathe and am glad I made the purchase.
