Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great deal compared to big deals

So some of these reviews contain incorrect information. No, you can't just take the horsepower number and assume you have the right pump somewhere. IF your old pump is the right size (and that's a big IF if it was installed by a plumber and not a good boilermaker), this pump is roughly equivalent to a TACO 007-F5 (the most common domestic circulating pump in the US). , according to TACO) or a Grundfoss UPS15-58FC (probably #2) at medium speed. B&G performance is slightly better than TACO or Grunfoss at medium speed and slightly lower than Grunfoss at high speed. In general, if your existing pump is 1/25 HP, this pump is probably a bit large for a 1 zone circulator, suitable for a 2-3 zone valve operated system, small for 4-5 zones, but will still work. albeit with potentially terrible efficiency at the ends of those ranges, but YMMV. So one star deducted for describing it as a 3 speed, it's not an NRF-25 which I'd happily pay an extra $30 for, but nobody had a prime like my previous TACO 007 - F5 is probably smaller. on my 5 zone system. So easy installation, let the boiler cool down, unscrew the old one, screw on the new one, about 15 minutes. What might not be as simple as that is how difficult it is to clean and bleed your system depending on many factors and you should definitely get it right. About 20 minutes for my system. Backup and start in a total of one hour. It doesn't have a check valve, if your old one has one and you need one, look elsewhere. new, let's see how it goes.
