Review on Unleash Precision with SunTop Filament's Superior Dimensional Accuracy by Rick Vidaurri

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Terribly easy to print with carbon fiber PLA 3d. I will buy again soon.

Have been working with 3D printers and crafters for a long time but avoided carbon fiber because the sheer number of people say they need ultra high temperatures, all metal hotends, hardened steel nozzles etc . To date (on a specially recently loaded 0.5mm nozzle, PTFE neck, on your Maker Select v2 / Wanhao Medium clone) I've printed 5 separate models of 35-40m². mm of varying specs and literally the easiest PLA-like filament I've printed in a long time. Nothing fancy, fans on, 225c extruder and 65c glass bed, literally easier to print than a big spool of Hatch filament. Smells a bit odd but no ABS, I put it down to the carbon fiber strands somehow getting caught up in that material, but overall my case doesn't seem to absorb any of it so I think it's relatively safe. The pieces are very, very strong and will last at least a few seconds under flame before starting to melt. Deformation doesn't seem to happen in any situation, so I sold out. Also, despite all these positive attributes, the parts are extremely light compared to their PETG or PLA (*no pun intended) counterparts, and the small gear I originally printed spins amazingly thanks to this attribute. I'm really impressed with this thread for the mechanical use and ease of printability. *Mind you, I have no problem changing jets and I always keep a PTFE hose spool handy for my MPMSV2 so I can see how much abuse it takes, but I actually experience a much smoother feel. Extrusion compared to most PLA and PETG commonly purchased but I still strongly recommend getting PTFE free tubing like an all metal hot end setup if you're going to use that in a printer like this but it literally doesn't jam, but I expect to change my gear every 2 weeks according to my usage habits, ie in other words, don't believe me, your miles may vary. It is very cheap to buy 10pcs cheap brass nozzles on Amazon, and PTFE hoses are also very cheap. In any case, it wouldn't hurt to just do it regularly on these machines :)
