The holes don't match, the screws are too short. Ugh frustrating

I really wanted to like this. The tumbler turner came with everything I needed. However. The holes don't line up, they're not even long enough to put one piece on the other side and the styrofoam pieces get in the way so it doesn't lay flat. I tried removing one but it didn't matter. Now I will see if my husband can work on it and fix it or I will come back.
