This tool is used to remove the crankshaft bolt on Honda Civic (and other models). They (crankshaft bolts) are notoriously hip and difficult to remove. It (the tool) is inserted into the Harmonic Balancer and is designed to prevent the crankshaft from turning while turning the bolt at the end of the crankshaft to remove it. First, it didn't fit very well and tended to slip out of the harmonic balancer. Second, no matter what combination of tools I tried (extenders, half-inch brake rods, impact tools, etc.), nothing worked. I finally managed to order a Lisle Honda crankshaft end (19mm, part number 77080). It worked alone (with my DEWalt 115VAC impact wrench). And that was a good thing, because the Lisle socket and this removal tool didn't go together. That is, the socket was too big for the tool, or the tool was too small for the socket. So in the end I didn't need or use this tool. My advice, just get a Lisle jack and save yourself the money and hassle this tool is worth.
