Description of 8MILELAKE 50mm Hex Crankshaft Crank Damper Pulley Holding Wrench Socket Tool - Ideal for Honda Acura Cars

This 50mm crankshaft pulley holder tool is designed to aid in the removal and installation of the crank bolt. on most Honda and Acura engines. Used with a 1/2 in. breaker bar or ratchet, this specialty tool prevents the harmonic damper pulley. from rotating while you're removing and setting the final torque specification on the pulley bolt. The tools design features a hexagonal shape with a hole in the center of the tool that allows the use of a socket and extension to help loosen or tighten the pulley bolt.

That does not work. good for power tools

Couldn't even use it because the tool didn't fit the 1/2 inch crusher due to bad casting. Couldn't return it because the return window was exceeded. It's just a waste of money.

Pros
  • Good looking
Cons
  • High price

Poorly made, didn't fit

The tool was long and didn't fit the crank pulley. I was stuck with the disassembled car and couldn't remove the crankshaft pulley so I sharpened the tool on both sides to fit. The product was not damaged, just poorly made. The fit was terrible and I would not recommend this tool.

It works and is cheaper than the tool recommended in the repair manual

Removing the pulley on a 2002 Honda Odyssey would be a difficult task without this tool. It works and is cheaper than the tool recommended in the repair guide. I believe this saved me about $600 in the expected labor cost of replacing the timing belt. As it's only needed every 7 years I may never use it again but it's still a good buy.

  • Well built

Pay someone else to do it.

It works, but the work is painful to do. Over 1500 ft-lbs of torque before it broke. No impact wrench, even a Honda weighted one, could provide the required torque. This tool consists of two pry bars and a 7 foot steel pipe over the top of the 220 lb pry bar on mine. The screw is still not broken. 1.5 minutes with a propane torch on a nut and then crowbars with a pipe was what it took. Make sure you are willing to break your back doing this job. pay someone else

Every Honda mechanic needs it.

I have used this tool dozens of times and it is holding up very well. Anyone who has ever removed a Honda crankshaft pulley knows that it has to be able to handle a lot of torque. This crank holder does the job perfectly. It fits into the crank notch the way it should, and it doesn't bend or cover the steel on the 1/2" drive square, even if you have to take out the 3-foot breaker and cheater tube. and just buy this one - it fits better anyway.

It's hard to keep it in the hole💃📢

If you use some tape to make it a little thicker, it will fit better in the hex hole in the pulley. If using a 1/2" square hole for the ratchet, push the ratchet handle back through the hex. This will prevent it from binding and shifting and then detaching or falling out. PB Whip this shit a day before you get to work, supposedly they don't get stuck like that sometimes but I had to take the bumper off and set it on fire for a minute and make sure you have a cheat bar over 3ft long have and a…

Not needed and doesn't work.

This tool is used to remove the crankshaft bolt on Honda Civic (and other models). They (crankshaft bolts) are notoriously hip and difficult to remove. It (the tool) is inserted into the Harmonic Balancer and is designed to prevent the crankshaft from turning while turning the bolt at the end of the crankshaft to remove it. First, it didn't fit very well and tended to slip out of the harmonic balancer. Second, no matter what combination of tools I tried (extenders, half-inch brake rods, impact…
