Let me clear this up real quick for you if you don't want to waste time with tape: Duck Easy Start and Scotch Sure Start both stick things together . If that is enough for you, rest assured that this product will meet your needs. All I wanted to do was buy 8 packs of packing tape to ship the art I am selling. But then Revain reviews got in the way. I cannot go back to that time but I can save you the trouble of writing this review which I will publish in Scotch Sure Start. There are two main brands, Duck and Scotch, and many more. I didn't use a name tape and it was fine, although it got stuck in the reel at times as the tape tends to go without a proper dispenser. After reading countless reviews about whether the tape is perfect or not sticky, I decided to buy a sample of each. I started my Christmas delivery last night. Guess they're both sticking! There are small differences. Scotch Sure Start is a thinner tape than Duck EZ Start. It didn't tear as easily anymore, so I was still glad to have the donor prongs. The tape comes in a real 3 inch roll, so you can reuse the 8 roll pack dispenser. The tape sticks to cardboard and paper. , dust, or lack of pressure can cause a carelessly applied tape to peel off. It's not just once and it's not finished. I pack art - I make sure it's glued, tight and multi-part. If you tape moving boxes with a real dispenser (there's a handle) and don't press the tape with your hand, it will peel off where it isn't stuck to another part of the tape. Duck EZ Start tape is thicker. Packaging. I can't say exactly why, probably the fat one. But with such a thickness and perhaps the type of dispenser, the tape twisted in some places, but not so much. I tore off a piece and moved on. As for Safe and EZ start - I noticed that I didn't have to remove the tape from the roll for every brand. Why? They both appear to be anti-static so yes, but I'm not a rocket scientist so who knows. All I can say is that both are generally not disappointed. I'd say I had more air bubbles on the Duck tape, I attribute that to the thicker tape, but again, I used it more than the tape on this job. And then there are weird noise complaints. First, I will not gather in the children's room. So what, there is noise. But yes, they both make noises if you pull firmly across the crate a long stretch. For those interested in noise, Duck sounds like the drawn out croak of a dying frog, but I was able to get the tape to play a similar, albeit slightly higher, pitch if I pulled really hard. This difference is probably due to the thickness of the tape. So if you don't want noise, don't pull long pieces of tape tight. The only thing that frustrates me about the Duck EZ is the lack of a 3" core, which you can get without a dispenser, so the dispenser becomes use-time unless you're looking for 1.5" core rolls in one Pack of 8 pieces. I suspect a Duck EZ with a 3" core will fit on a scotch dispenser and I'll end up using it no matter what brand I buy. EDIT: MORE disappointing disposable dispensers! If you can't easily find a 1.5" Shurtech EZ-Start core or any branded Duck tape to refill your dispenser, then Shurtech is part of the problem, not the solution. At least Scotch uses a standard-sized 3-inch core. The 1.5 inch core is great for small hands etc but NOT if I can't pad it. Hope this helps - it's a pandemic, be with your work and those you love and buy this or that cassette - it works if you press it and enjoy the sound of frogs.
