Review on πŸ”Œ Silver Draw-Tite 20191 I-Stop IQ Electronic Trailer Brake Control by Corey Krull

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best values for a Brake Control Unit

As noted in other reviews, it is identical to the Tekonsha Primus IQ. Not a fake but literally renamed Tekonsha. the label on the back even says so. And it's about $10 cheaper than the "real" Tekonsha, so why not? If you do a little research, almost everyone recommends Tekonsha's Prodigy series brake controls. It has the same proportional tech as the Prodigies (including the excellent P3), but lacks the ability for multiple trailer profiles, special features for very heavy multi-axle trailers, etc. If you're like me and have a small single-axle trailer, you'll need that anyway Not. It easily mounts under the dashboard of our van and is plug and play thanks to an adapter (sold separately) that plugs directly into our van. If your car doesn't have the specified adapter then you have a lot more work to do but the instructions seem to be clearly written and the same goes for all other brake control units.

Pros
  • Brake Control Units
Cons
  • Not the best
