It does not appear to remove dark deposits from brass. Brightens uncolored brass

Doesn't work any better on brass than other modern products as far as I can tell. I have a spare 1/2 can of the old Brasso formula and am using that as a reference. While this can lighten unstained brass, it does not appear to remove significant dark tarnish whether elbows are soaked or smudged. I haven't tried copper yet. It smells very strongly of ammonia, like many EPA-approved brass cleaners that have petroleum distillates removed from their formulas.

Pros

EASY TO USE — This liquid cleaner is easy to use. Apply to the surface with a clean, soft cloth until all plaque is removed. Turn the fabric frequently to avoid reusing dirty parts. Let the paint dry and then wipe again. For more decorative objects, wash off the varnish with a damp sponge and leave to dry. Shake well before use.
