Having had several types and brands of crappy massagers in the past, I didn't have high hopes that this one would be any better. But it turned out to be a good deal on a day when my spine was more problematic than usual, so I took a chance and ordered it. Every shiatsu device I've tried in the past has always been more painful than therapeutic. Mainly because the "fingers" were too strong and felt like too hard plastic for their purpose. But not this puppy! These are God's Loki massagers. Everything is correct. If, like me, you've had bad luck with massagers in the past, I highly recommend you try this before you give up the idea entirely. How you position your body in relation to the machine determines your relief. Experiment with different angles and pressures and I'm sure you'll find what works for you. Hope that helps.
