My two ferrets are happy! Put them in right away with all your toys and they can run and play freely. No their heads can't get stuck in the trellis, everything on the gate is positioned perfectly so they get stuck inside and can't escape the math they brought with them, that's really nice too considering my ferrets aren't potty trained yet because we only got it a few days ago so it's good for easy cleaning, they also seem to find it funny because it sticks to their little feet because it's a plastic mat. We were also able to attach her water bottle to the side. I don't think they will be able to outrun it because it seems very difficult and they can't push it, so I think if you have this for your ferret you'll be fine. It's about the size of my thigh so I don't think they can climb over it unless you put a goal sized toy and them all in.
