I liked that this product is conductive on both sides, easy to detach and reasonably priced. In my application, I connected a shielded and grounded outdoor CAT6E CMX Ethernet cable to the terminators. The tinned copper ground wire coming out of the back of the socket had to be wrapped around the metal round entry hole, but the copper wire had a tendency to unravel, resulting in a questionable ground due to the socket's smooth nickel plating. This copper strap held the ground wire before I used zip ties to hold the socket closed and now I have no doubt that the ground wire makes a good ground for the cable shield. I could have just used old tape but the glue wouldn't be conductive and when working with wire this small (24 AWG) I wanted to be absolutely sure of good electrical contact.
