Review on Enhance Engine Performance πŸ”§ with Motorcraft FD4615 Fuel Filter by Troy Larson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Change the fuel filter and after that the diesel truck won't start.

I watched a lot of YouTube videos before installing these filters. Most people have advised not to overtighten the frame mounted canister as it is plastic and you can overtighten and damage it. I installed it manually and went through the flushing process 6 times as they say and my truck started for about 2 seconds, stalled and wouldn't start again, just spun and spun. I went and researched a truck that won't start after changing the fuel filter and came across a guy with the same problem and he said to tighten the plastic canister all the way. I pulled the wires from the side of the canister and tried to tighten them with the connector I removed, it was tight but as soon as it started moving it twisted again and STOPPED. I could tell it was as far as it would go. I turned the ignition back on and this time you could hear the pump running under the truck and the pump under the hood and air moving in the fuel lines. I repeated it 6 times and the truck started! I don't trust people on You Tube because you might get wrong information. I would suggest to solve this problem yourself, count how many times you rotate the filter while removing it so you know exactly how many times to install it. Once you do this you will feel the stop and you will understand what I am talking about.
