Definitely nice as a COATING over an opaque paint. I will use these to add a gloss finish and then apply a coat of high gloss varnish as a final top coat. These are not at all like the photo. I am considering returning them but will use them as I have described. The collection has several unique colors like dark red, aqua and even black. Hard to find at local craft/hobby stores.
