Breaks easily and is ridiculously small!

This is bad. The impact area is about 1/3-1/2 the size of a standard fly swatter. They are slightly larger than a playing card. The metal extension is very thin and will bend if hit hard. Which you will have a lot because of the tiny fly swatter. Lengthening the rod drastically reduces accuracy so it is much better to leave it unstretched as the fly swatter is much stronger and more accurate.
