My new apartment is an old building with really huge windows. Even in the shade, the light just falls in. I like the light, but sometimes I need complete darkness to fall asleep or just to calm down. I installed blackout curtains to make sure it's pitch black when I need it. So I needed curtain rods and curtain rod holders strong enough to support the weight of four heavy blackout curtains. These curtains are insanely heavy when everything is on the same curtain rod. Fewer panels wouldn't have given me the full coverage I needed to block out the light on a sunny day. So I needed a cornice solution that could support a lot of weight. I also needed a curtain rod solution that would allow me to leave my existing white blinds in place. These curtain rod hangers did both well. The maximum adjustable extension of these curtain rods allowed my blackout drapes to float outside of my shades. Despite the stretch, these curtain rod holders were securely fastened and didn't move, kink or wobble. The length of the cornice was huge, over 70 inches, so I had one in the middle to keep the cornice from sagging. I installed the poles professionally and considering it took the technicians a few minutes to complete I have to say they were easy to install once you know what you are doing. t do something where everything was ok!
