Lid design allows mold growth and cannot be avoided. Below a small metal capital on the lid is an empty recess in which the ribbon of cloth is held. After you wash the cover, the fabric strap will get wet and a small part of it will not dry completely, resulting in mildew. I could tell it happened because there was an awful bad smell that I couldn't get rid of, so I broke one of the bad caps and found something black growing in the little metal cap. The attached photo shows the form of the joke. I contacted the seller to let them know and got a reply that they will take care of the problem. Until they change the cap design I wouldn't buy these bottles.
