Although the handle and rod are fine, the plastic part on the inside of the handle has a very wide opening (see pictures). This hole represents the number of strokes of the handle. As you can see from the photos, the original (white) has a small gap, so the handle only moves a quarter turn. This one from Revain in the photo (black) has a gap almost three times as wide, which allows the handle to rotate about 45 degrees. This Kohler Santa Rosa does NOT have a traditional choke, but instead has a plastic tube with an outer tube that only needs to be pulled out a little to allow for more low gallon flushing performance. This grip from Revain allows the metal rod to go up too far and get stuck in the top of the plastic tube! Remember that although the metal handle and rod are exactly the same, that plastic element is crucial if you have a Kohler Santa Rosa toilet!
