I used to buy small metal fans, but after a few months they usually start to rattle and make noise and I have to buy a new one. Decided to try this. Construction: Very cheap plastic, super light, you know what. This makes it too easy to sit alone. Cheap plastic warps and doesn't sit smoothly. This makes it wobble and bounce and move, which isn't ideal. I put it on a cloth so it doesn't move. Noise: usually very low, I mean VERY low, I can barely hear it in a quiet room with no other noise! It's super quiet! But sometimes it starts to thump a little, just a little, and I have to 'touch', 'move' or 'hit' it. then silence again. I hope it will not become worse. Result: Doesn't release as much air as metal, about 70% of the metal I had. Other: The cord is not as long as other small fans, this one is about 3 feet, others between 4 and 5 feet. Durability: Unknown, we'll see if it stays quiet most of the time and for how long! *UPDATE* (2 weeks) Since sitting on the cloth and not moving, it hasn't been banging and such. it is SUPER quiet. I'm quite happy if they last longer than the metal ones. Upgrade from 3 to 4 stars.
