The Nikon D3100 that I just bought has a feature called LifeView, and when shooting in this mode, the camera is able to achieve sharp focus and crisp images very quickly. A video camera with some footage of very stunning quality was found in the bin. I'm really content with these settings, despite what the "experts" claim. And if somebody isn't satisfied, they can remove it, perhaps from a height of a few feet above the floor or a few inches above their head. When they finally get their hands on a GOOD video camera, they may maybe stumble into something original throughout the course of shooting. But there's a snag now. And so do I, with my Samsung nx10. Hence, Samsung's menu system is a step forward in time while Nikon's is stuck in the past. The Samsung case is more solidly constructed, has superior materials, and doesn't squeak. As for the meat of the matter, there isn't much of a difference in terms of picture quality between the two cameras; the Samsung is just a touch noisier.
