I bought four packs of two 16 cup containers and I love them. I measured the inside of my closets and these 8" tall bins fit really well and transform my messy closets into organized, inviting storage. I've tried various types of pretty canisters but they rarely close well so I just kept flour etc in their original bags which were unsightly and leaky. Also, it's hard to find canisters as compact as these. Anything with a fancy design or shape, forget it, they end up clogging up my countertop. They might be more useful, but they really make use of the space you have. I also like that you can see what's in the can without opening it. I may have to tag a few, but mostly no. We often have problems with moths, especially in warm weather and sometimes all year round. They seem to be able to hit almost anything. I often had to store flour and cereal in the freezer, which really took up a lot of space in my freezer. I've had to put bags of flour or grain in plastic bags to keep them dry and it was all a pain. Now my freezer can be used properly to store frozen food and the cupboards are clean and tidy! The lids on these containers are VERY tight and I keep out moths trying to get in! You can use them for almost anything: flour, sugar, rice, oatmeal, all other cereals, breakfast cereals, granola, freshly baked cookies, all those wrappers that clutter up the cupboard (salad dressing mix, soup mix, taco seasoning, just pop 'em in all in one of them!) I wouldn't recommend them for brown sugar as any air in the headspace of the container will cause it to harden like a rock. I use the 8 I bought for: white flour, whole wheat bread flour, whole wheat baking flour, white rice, basmati rice, brown rice, cornmeal, and plastic bags of peas, lentils, etc. that are in undersized quantities. for own containers.
