I ordered this hole cutter because I needed the ability to cut holes that would fit my vacuum hose inlet nozzle, which tapers from 0.159 to 0.160-inch diameter. The closest hole cutter I could find that would not exceed this size was this 40 mm piece. Per spec, it should cut a 40 mm hole (0.157-inch diameter). To get the actual needed size, all that would be required would be a bit of drum sanding or hand filing. That was the plan. A trial hole was cut into a scrape 1-inch-thick piece of wood. The cutter was able to cut the full 1-inch depth without the need to finish the cut from the other side of the wood. As can be seen in the photos, a lot of sawdust was produced as a result of the wide kerf of the carbide cutters. The wood plug that was cut out got stuck in the hole saw, but it was easy enough to remove by loosening the set screw and pulling on the pilot drill (with a rag to avoid cutting my fingers); the plug came out with the drill.To my pleasant surprise the created hole was a bit larger than the cutter’s spec. In fact, it turned-out to be the perfect size needed. I’m a happy camper, so 5-stars for this cutter.
