The box is decent but not perfect. It has the same junk locks you'll find anywhere in the RV world - you can open it with a paper clip. But it's a standard size and easy to swap out (we've upgraded all our storage boxes with barrel pin locks, which aren't perfect either, but better). The mount is a little less durable than I would like. It "hangs" on two brackets that you mount first and then insert screws on each side that are more or less tight to the brackets and reinforce everything. It works well but not very durable - I would check the torque regularly and lock everything. I don't see a specific weight, but it's just a plain box made out of probably 18ga mild steel, so I wouldn't load it to a maximum of 35-50 pounds. My biggest problem is compression. The door closes with an "overlapping" lip around the box, which is a good start, but definitely doesn't keep out dust or water very well. I drilled two small holes in the bottom panel to allow some drainage if needed and I plan to put a thin gasket around the edge of the door. This is a box. It's just the right size to fill that space. So it's not perfect, but if that's what you're looking for, then it is.
