They are really waterproof and keep my 5 year old's hands warm when skiing in 20 degree weather. She said her fingers never got cold. They are easy to put on and also easy to find due to the bright colors and designs. Unfortunately, I can't say much about the durability, as the straps at the ends of both mittens came loose and tore on the third day of use. use and we have not abused them or been overly aggressive. I'm just trying to tighten them to keep the snow and cold air out. Pretty disappointing. Now I just wonder what will fail next.
