I suffer from heel spurs and the arch in this shoe gives my arch great support. If you're looking for soft comfort, then these flip flops aren't for you. I have arch support and my heel spurs no longer hurt, not to mention they are stylish and comfortable for me. I wear a size 8.5 and bought a 9 and it fits perfectly. Hope that helps
