I wasn't in the mood to do it myself but after I finally called the plumber he skinned me and left with a shower leak, I thought I should find out. These parts will work with any Kohler diverter purchased in the last 20 years or so (don't know for sure). If you have a leak, you most likely just need new washers. However, the redesigned cartridge is an improvement and uses O-rings instead of the washers in the original. It is unlikely that you will need a new cap. However, given the cost, it's not too difficult to buy both. Your first task is to figure out how to remove the handle cover. Kohler makes many different styles and their website has instructions on how to uninstall each style. The rest of the instructions are pretty clear. After turning off the water supply, you need to turn on the shower faucet to drain the water, and then the lower faucet for the sink. For a complete replacement you only need a screwdriver.
