Review on 🪵 Petrifier Wood Hardener - PC Products, Water-Based, 1 Gallon, Milky White (Product Code: 128442) by Jim Raju

Good product, environmentally friendly and difficult to clean

I had termite damage behind a gutter on a porch that extends outside the walls of the house. I tore out the main thermite tunnels and the outer shell of the old paint down to about 12 feet of 1 1/2" x 3/4" wood paneling. I then carved some wood to even out the uneven area I ripped out. I then applied this wood hardener to the entire area in about 3 coats, waiting in the sunlight at 85 degrees Fahrenheit for about 1/2 hour between coats. As others have mentioned, it strengthened the area of the tree where I applied it. I didn't have to apply vertically, but - even worse - upside down. It flowed and bled a little from my brush down my arm, but I was able to froth it up by pumping an inch of the substance poured into a small coffee cup with the brush; Then I applied the foamy liquid so that it would stick to the wood and get into the small holes I had drilled (per the instructions for vertical surfaces). I applied 3 coats on a hot sunny day and checked the next morning to see if the outside of the wood had cured. That's impressive in part; I think it's a very good price and it's nice that it's not as toxic as the Minwax alternative I've read about burning through plastic containers and brush fibres. I was able to remove the leak that had landed on my forearm and clean what had landed on my air conditioning cabinet under the ledge by applying orange oil, which auto mechanics use to remove grease and oil; I let the cleaner sit with the orange oil for 10 minutes to allow it to swallow the hardened liquid. I give him 5 stars because he worked for me in the worst conditions. I will use Bondo to fill open termite tunnels, seal wood, and create a clean, smooth finish.
