I've had this remote for a few weeks now and it works very well. Eventually Kenwood changed the way they did the long distance wiring and I wish it was more clearly stated in the ad because I wasted my money. Where a multi-pin DIN cable used to be used to control the head unit from the remote control, it is now just a single wire. Somehow the radio knows when you press up/down/left/right and reacts accordingly. When I first bought it, the review said it came with a remote control cable (9ft I think?). When I bought it I opened the box and noticed there was NO cable included so I paid $20 for one on eBay as they were a lot cheaper than the ones available here. Turns out there wasn't a port to connect this cable to when I installed it, and now I'm stuck with a useless cable. The remote itself seems to work fine so I have it to myself.
