Review on New Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Standard Zoom Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras (White Box) by Arun Kumar ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

I use it with 50D. What I like most about glass is that it covers all the necessary FRs, an excellent lens for its price (a new one cost me less than 10,000 on the Internet). For all occasions. Excellent color reproduction, outdoor portraits look very juicy and bright. The hole closes sharply with an increase in FR, because of this it is difficult to use in a dark room without a flash. The focus hits the target in 99 out of 100 cases, it aims at the sun instantly, it gets dull in the dark, but it behaves quite well. Focusing is noisy, manual adjustment is very easy and not informative, but you can get used to it over time. The stabilizer works great! I took sharp handheld photos indoors at a maximum FR of 135mm with a shutter speed of 1/10s! In general, the price of this glass compensates for all its shortcomings.

Pros
  • - universal focal lengths - beautiful solid appearance (especially with a hood on) - excellent color reproduction - excellent 4-stage stabilizer - quite sharp on a covered aperture in sunny weather
Cons
  • - a vacuum cleaner - darkish - build quality, but again the price compensates for this - Noticeable vignetting at the long end - 18mm barrel is quite strong
