We feed about 20 birds these treats. Every evening our birds change the water and then I give each bird two Nutri-Berries or some AviCakes. If I don't hear about it. At first the parrots only liked AviCakes, but now they love both. There are different Nutriberries for different types of parrots, but I usually just buy this version of the cockatiel for everyone. Some of my birds aren't really hand tamed or a bit stubborn so I use them to put them back in their cages as well. It works! One of the parrots immediately flies into its cage when I enter the room with a large can of candy. Cockatiels begin to sing and run around the food bowl. Skittles fall out. The neck with the Indian ring appears in front of my face and follows me from cage to cage until I give it one. Putting it in a bowl is not enough. It must be delivered to the beak manually. My Alexandrina whistles until she gets hers. Lovers are crazy about them too. In fact, they steal Nutriberries from unattended cages or kick out their inmates so they can loot bowls of treats. Mischievous or imaginative, you decide. Harrison High Potency Pellets are the staple diet of all my birds so this mainly seed treat really appeals to them and allows them to get some seeds without getting too many. A seed-based diet can contribute to fatty liver, and we don't want that. Sometimes I change it up and suggest the El Paso Nutriberry. They contain larger seeds and peppers, but even parrots manage to destroy them. Nutri-Berries tend to stick together in the middle of the container but are usually easy to break. One reviewer suggested placing the bread in a container to prevent clumping. I'll try bread with my next bath. Update: The price of a 4 lb tub has gone up to over $10. The regular price is $36.98 and the so-called discounted price is $29.xx. I have never seen them sold for such a high price. I use two baths a month but I have a prescription to make my own and I will do it now or I'll go to my local pet store where the cost is MUCH lower. One star off for the price gouging.
