We have around 2500-3000 hours of use. Motorola has slightly changed the design and in the new design (2015) the connector is shortened. So it will not securely connect to our DTR radios unless we cut off the rubber plug from the radio that covers the ports when the headset is not in use. Rotating the plug does not create enough clearance. Of course, this poses a problem if the radio has previously been used without a headset. The mic hole is at the top of the mic/button assembly so a drop of rain or sweat and it won't work until dry but I can see why it is there. The new version also has a short length of twisted pair cable, which is a big improvement. On some devices, the microphone button can sometimes get stuck.
