The battery in my truck will soon be 5 years old and as I don't want to be left in an awkward position I decided to order this unit. It was easy to use and seems to work well. However, it's hard to tell if it accurately reflects the health of my battery. I will monitor the battery every month and see if the readings at least show that the battery is aging as it should at the moment. My only concern is that there is a step in the "In Car" test where the device asks you to increase engine RPM to 2500 and then press OK. It instantly becomes a two person job unless you have crazy long arms. This should be a temporary function: press OK, you have 15 seconds to get behind the wheel and start the engine, and then the test begins. So I had to skip this step in the mock test I made (see photo). The device doesn't feel very heavy, but the user interface is very clean and easy to use (except for the 2500 rpm pitch). There's even a simple oscilloscope-like screen that graphically displays the charge voltage ripple during a charge test. I will update my review if one day my battery runs low and the tester still says "GOOD BATTERY" but for now I'm saying this is a good deal and will help me get the most out of my current battery, without taking the risk of being stranded.
