Review on πŸ”΄ IMKAR 512GB Flash Drive: Versatile USB Memory Photo Stick for iPhone, Android, and Computer (Red) by Andrew Gomez

Done, easy setup

I was looking for a decent solution to back up photos and videos on my I-Phone and my wife's Android. We're in the process of upgrading our mobile devices and I want to make sure all backups are in a safe off-cloud location before we make the transition. I also want to back up and organize my photos and videos on my laptop. I read several reviews of different flash drives with multiple connections to different devices (i-Phone, USB, USB-C, Micro-USB) and came to the conclusion that most of these devices work the same way: when backing up Files from an IOS device, you should use the proprietary Y-Disk app, which seems to handle the data transfer. I ultimately chose this product mainly because of the price and data capacity. I was a little wary of using the Y Disk app as it has low ratings. It would be nice if there were alternative apps that could do the same thing. I ordered the device yesterday and it arrived today. There are no delivery problems. Thank you Prime! I opened the package and it worked immediately after installing Y-Disk on my phone. It's easy to start. As I write this review, the device is backing up my photos from my I-Phone. The transfer takes some time and I don't know if it will be fully successful until the progress bar reaches 100%. Right now it's 35% and it works for at least an hour. I only have about 15GB of photos and videos on my phone. So if I had to back up files on other devices, I would probably wait until that time of day when I probably won't need to access the other devices for several hours. I will do another check after the backup is complete if the end result is not what I expected. My goal is to backup photos and videos from multiple devices (phones and computers) to one portable device. More importantly, my goal is to ORGANIZE media, especially the thousands of photos and videos that are scattered across my computers. After much research I have come to the conclusion that there is no utility that would efficiently organize my media files by date. I really want to organize all my photos and videos by date/time taken. Instead, it just copies the files but assigns the current date as the creation date.
