We have replaced all the traps in our RV and have had no problem using them in the 8 degree weather. I'm not sure what all the grumbling is about, but maybe they have mineral deposits. We have found that we need to service our traps every 9-12 months of constant use. With regular use (monthly) a mixture of baking soda and vinegar poured down the sink seems to do the trick. I've found that when used as a urine trap for our natural head, you have to spray vinegar after each visit. controlling minerals. If you find that minerals are still building up, remove the trap and soak it in a bowl of vinegar overnight. Then gently run the brush through the trap until the mineral deposits are removed. As a result, the traps will never be left unattended. We've never had a problem with freezing, but as another reviewer mentioned, having a heater tape attached to the trap should help. wow b
