I installed this kit on my 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crew Cab with V8 and 2WD. As the 1st generation Tundra and Sequoia ages, the rubber bushings in the steering rack mounts begin to wear and soften. This happens gradually and over time the steering will feel loose and fuzzy. These polyurethane bushings are not hard plastic. They are designed to mimic the harshness of rubber bushings when new. I didn't notice any extra road noise in the truck or extra vibrations transmitted through the steering wheel after installation. I installed them 6 months ago and have driven 6-7k miles since then. The steering wheel tightened to keep it from slipping at highway speeds. Pulling out the old rubber bushings was a little harder than expected but I was able to persuade them and they removed the steering rack. This work can be done on the car without completely removing the trunk. You need to jack up the front end high enough to get the front wheels off the ground. Several fastening bolts are screwed into the weld nuts. Don't try to remove the welded nuts, remove the bolts instead. Be sure to follow the directions for the large metal disk. It's actually a spacer, and that's important. Lubricate the new bushings with synthetic grease to facilitate rack mounting. This DIY project was definitely worth the cost, time, and effort.
