The description says they are sticky so I mistakenly assumed they would stick to the carpet but both sides are sticky. I used them on the tray so it doesn't move, it completely glued my tray to the floor. In order to even move it, having sat in place for only a minute or two, it had to be manually moved from its place. I can imagine what would happen if I left them in place for a long time. They're not against sliding, they're against movement. If you're looking to tape something to the floor, maybe in a garage or shop these are perfect, but how well they work is not sure if they will damage your floors.
